	Restoration is often necessary on buildings in historic districts such as Cabbagetown. When an area of brick shows deterioration, it can be replaced; it is then desirable to closely match the colour, texture and surface treatment of the surrounding bricks and mortar. Gravemarkers also require restoration as old stones can become damaged or weathered and unreadable.
